If your clubs elect officers semi-annually, that’s scheduled to happen in November.
Once you know your lineup of officers, the following are the upcoming officer training dates:
- Saturday, December 6th - District TLI in San Marcos (flier on the Resources page)
- Saturday, January 10th probably at the Unity Center
- Wednesday, January 21st
- Thursday, January 29th
Encourage your club officers to save at least one of these dates on their calenders.
Your best bet is to attend the TLI. That would give new officers the chance to get trained BEFORE they actually take office (what a novel idea!).

We’ve begun promoting the fall conference.
Other than the fantastic educational sessions and contests we have lined up there’s a special promotion:
Any club that can get 5 members there with either a full registration or an education and contests registration will earn a World Champion Speaker DVD valued at up to $20. Here’s one example.
So if you haven’t done so already, go register for the conference and invite your fellow members from your club.
All the details are here: http://toastmastersinaustin.info/conference/.
[EDIT 9/24: The district website is now up and running. Both pages are identical but the official one is www.tmd55.org/conference/. It hadn't been working when I wrote this post.]

The fliers for the first two of three Austin officer trainings are now posted on the Resources page.
The first is at the Parmer Freescale one week from today. It runs two hours and will have an interactive discussion as the qualifying officer training session.
The second is at the Unity Center on a Saturday morning. It will run about 3 hours and provide the opportunity to be trained in multiple offices for those of you that hold more than one. Sessions run two at a time so check the flier to make sure the schedule works out for you.
I’ll post info on the HACA training once we have it.

If you haven’t signed up for the TLI (Toastmasters Leadership Institute), now is the time. Tell your club officers. Members who aren’t officers are welcome too.
All the info is a pdf available on our resources page. I just updated the speaker and session info.
This is the first and best opportunity to get credit for officer training. Members who aren’t officers are also encouraged to attend. There’s no fee unless you want lunch.
I’ve also updated the calender to include times and locations for the rest of the officer trainings in Austin plus most of Division L’s area contests.
